The CyberPeace Institute is a Geneva based organization protecting the most vulnerable in cyberspace. Independent and neutral, the Institute investigates and analyzes the human impact of systemic cyber threats, delivers free cybersecurity assistance, tracks the enforcement of international laws and norms and forecasts threats to cyberpeace.

Your Mission

As Fundraising Associate, you will support the Chief Strategy and Partnerships Officer in developing the strategic fundraising narrative of the Institute and related internal & external engagement with the Institute’s stakeholders network, including partners and donors, on top of contributing to the effective management and smooth functioning of the team and the Institute.

Your Responsibilities

Under the leadership of the Chief Strategy and Partnerships Officer, the Fundraising Associate will:

  • Support in managing relationships with current donors.
  • Research and track of potential funding sources to support the operationalization of the fundraising strategy.
  • Manage identified fundraising workstream and prospects, from identification to stewardship.
  • Effectively convey the organization’s mission, vision, and programs to potential donors, in spoken and written forms.
  • Ensure regular communications and adherence to reporting timelines with donors.
  • Liaise with various departments within the Institute to collect and present relevant information to stakeholders.
  • Develop letter of interests, grant applications, proposals, award applications etc.
  • Support the fundraising internal and external communication.
  • Support with organization and attendance of fundraising related meetings and events.
  • Manage and update the internal donor management system and ensure all prospective and current donor details are accurately recorded in the donor database.
  • Produce regular reporting and debriefing for the team and the Institute.

Your Experience, Skills and Attribute

  • Studies relevant to responsibilities, like in business management/administration/economics, international relations, international development, international human rights, international security studies, cybersecurity, or related field
  • Fluency in English and French, spoken and written
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of full MS Office Package
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people from varied backgrounds, at all management levels
  • Ability to coordinate with departments, organize and prioritize workload and adhere to deadlines
  • Demonstrated commitment to work in NGOs – nonprofit sector
  • Previous experience in fundraising, reporting, writing proposals, grant applications (preferably in an NGO) is considered an asset

Additional Information

  • Duration:  12 months
  • Working rate: full-time (ideally) or at least 80%
  • Starting date: as soon as possible
  • Location: Geneva, Switzerland (ideally) or remote (CET hours)
