Sonia Karkare

HUMANITARIAN EXECUTIVE & ADJUNCT PROFESSOR AT KENT UNIVERSITY, AMBASSADOR CRAWFORD COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Sonia Karkare is the former Director of Digital Transformation for the Operational Centre of West and Central Africa (WaCA) at Médecins Sans Frontières (Msf). In 2003, she co-founded a consulting business in New York City, focused on advising organizations on the strategic use of technology. In 2011, As Adjunct Professor at her alma mater Kent State University, she created the first-of- its-kind Nonprofit Consulting Practicum course in the College of Business, that focused on teaching students consulting skills within the nonprofit sector by engaging with local nonprofits. Sonia is passionate about the power of technology and how it can have a revolutionary social impact. She is an advocate for access to education and the presence of women in STEM and leadership roles in the workplace.
