Hoo Ming Ng

STRATEGIC BUSINESS & OPERATIONS ADVISOR, FORMER DEPUTY CEO, CYBER SECURITY AGENCY OF SINGAPORE

Born in 1961, Hoo Ming, graduated with a Dip D’Ingenierie Informatique (Computer Science) from Ecole Superieur d’Informatique, France, and has more than 30 years of IT security experience.

In 2009, Hoo Ming was appointed as the Director in charge of the newly formed Singapore Infocomms Technology Security Authority (SITSA). Its mission is to secure the IT environment of Singapore, especially vis-à-vis external threats to national security which include cyber-terrorism and cyber espionage. In 2015, Hoo Ming was seconded to Singapore Cyber Security Agency to help build-up the operation capability of the CSA. He was appointed as Deputy CE (National Cyber Resilience) in 2019. Hoo Ming also served as chairman and member of various national, regional and international committees such as the ASEAN Network Security Action Council and the ASEAN Regional Forum Intersessional Meeting on ICTs Security, and the  expert panel on cyber of Interpol. Hoo Ming retired from the Public Service since May 2021. He currently undertakes various roles as an advisor and Chapter President  to the Cybersecurity of ASEAN Chief Information Officer, the Smart Nation IoT Threat Analytic project undertaken by the center SPIRIT at Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
