Lindsay Freeman

Lindsay Freeman is Director of Technology, Law & Policy at the Human Rights Center, UC Berkeley School of Law. She is an international criminal lawyer with experience at the International Criminal Court and Extraordinary Chambers in Cambodia, and expertise in digital evidence and investigations of atrocity crimes. Freeman led the drafting of the Berkeley Protocol on Digital Open Source Investigations, international standards co-published by the UN Human Rights Office. She is a Visiting Fellow of Practice at Oxford University and part of the ABA’s International Criminal Justice Advisory Group. She has worked as a prosecutor in California and in the tech industry. She has an Adv. LLM from Leiden University, JD from University of San Francisco Law School, and BA from Middlebury College.
