Eric Meerkamper

FELLOW, MONTREAL INSTITUTE FOR GENOCIDE AND HUMAN RIGHTS STUDIES

Eric Meerkamper is a Fellow at the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies and Co-Founder of the Centre for Social Innovation.

A technology and data insights executive, Eric Meerkamper has worked for the past decade at the intersection of innovative technologies and global international development, digital citizen engagement, and human rights. Eric has collaborated closely with the World Bank, World Food Programme, UNDP, Freedom House, Harvard University, National Democratic Institute, Munk School for Global Affairs, among others on applying new technologies to critical issues including: gender-based violence, global LGBTQ rights, peace-building, violent extremism, refugees and migrants, persecution of ethnic minorities, mis/disinformation, democratic renewal, and global public health.

Eric holds an MBA from the Ivey Business School and a BA (Hons) International Political Science from Western University. He is a Fellow at the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies, Co-Founder and Past Chair of the Centre for Social Innovation in Toronto, and Past Chair of the Daily Bread Food Bank. Eric has Canadian and Swiss citizenship and speaks English, French, and Spanish.
