Alejandro Becerra is the Global Information Security Director in Telefonica, responsible for security of over 350m customer across fixed lines, mobile, data, and TV and over 120k employees worldwide.
His focus is on security of internal processes and platforms, ranging from development of security policies, security governance and technical architecture, security of the digital transformation programmes, and operational security for internal global services. In his role he brings together numerous internal and external stakeholders, and therefore part of his responsibility involves fostering relationship with national, regional and global organizations, public and private, for alignment in security across the cyberspace to promote a safer online world.
Previously he was Global Head of IT security, and before that the Cybersecurity lead in Telefonica’s R&D unit. Overall he has over 25 years’ experience in telco processes and technologies. He frequently participates in national and international events on cybersecurity and has published several articles on cybersecurity trends and priorities. Alejandro has a master’s degree in telecommunications from ETSIT UPMadrid, Spain, and a post-graduate degree in Telco Business Management from IE Business School, Spain.
